About the Repertory Company

Dance is a performing art and our company was designed for those dancers who absolutely love dance, want more performing opportunities beyond the annual performance and may be interested in pursuing a dance career. The Repertory company is made up of Apprentice, Junior, Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz Ensembles.

Our Ballet Ensemble has performed classical ballets such as “The Mistake Waltz”, “Pas de Quatre” and “Les Sylphides” as well as excerpts from major ballets such as the Blue Bird pas de deux from “Sleeping Beauty” and solo variations from “Paquita”, and “Swan Lake”. We produce a full length Nutcracker each season as well as a full length Spring Production. We have staged original ballets with our own Christian telling of the story such as “The Snow Queen”, “Cinderella” and “Sleeping Beauty”. We are active in our community and have performed at Penrod Arts Fair, Riley Hospital for Children, several assisted living facilities, churches and local festivals. In addition we have been guest artists with the White River Chamber Orchestra and the Indianapolis Symphonic Band.

Dance Creations Academy’s pre-professional program and performing company are designed to develop, inspire, and sustain a love of dance in every student. Our primary goal is to produce classically trained, versatile dancers. Our program offers technique rooted in the traditions of classical ballet, contemporary and jazz with progressive age-appropriate curriculum. Our dancers have the opportunity to develop a strong technique, discipline, creativity, artistry, musicality, and confidence.

The expertise and dedication of our faculty offers our dancers a challenging and comprehensive program that will prepare them to achieve their goals. Our DCA dancers have gone on to pursue degrees in dance performance and/or pedagogy, dance with professional companies and become dance instructors and choreographers.

Our exceptional faculty gives each dancer personal attention in a nurturing, supportive environment. The DCA dancers are given performance opportunities locally and are exposed to professional dance performances in Indianapolis and surrounding areas.

Annual auditions for the DCA Repertory Company are each Spring and dancers will sign a one-year contract. There is no audition necessary for the Apprentice Ensemble.
